Damsels in Distress (2011) *

It’s been a while since I walked out of a film long before its rolling end titles. But my distress overcame my sense of duty for watching this piece of misery all the way through.

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011) ***

An uneven indie comedy, directed and written by Jay and Mark Duplass, Jeff, Who Lives at Home is sort of a mess. It consists of funny bits and moments of charm; and then there is the rest – a sluggish plot that seems to go nowhere for the better part of the film.

Footnote (Israel, 2011) *****

Thin Ice (2011) ***

The story focuses around the character of Mickey, very convincingly played by Greg Kinnear, who is the stereotype of a con insurance salesman. The plot takes time to develop so if you decide to watch this film, be patient...

The Iron Lady (UK, 2011) ***

Whether one appreciates Margaret Thatcher’s regime, or looks back at it as a period filled with bad memories, surely no one would take her for a frail old lady suffering from dementia.
