Based on the real-life story of Ramón Sampedro, The Sea Inside, addressing the controversial issue of Euthanasia, is borderline sentimental, yet effective in its delivery.
Millions faithfully aims right at the heart – emotionally and otherwise, but so doing without much melodrama and preaching. It is not a children film nor a Christian fable but rather a direct, even if seemingly naive, examination of the way we justify our actions, respect others and struggle, mostly with little success, to maintain what we believe are our core values.
My favorite TV Sci Fi series remains Star Trek The Next Generation. Character development, storyline, etc were at its heights. Another Sci Fi favorite that unfortunately didn’t stick was Firefly which would take the second place. Galactica comes as number three which is still a respectable place to be. And towards the end I was really ready for it t be over… it felt like it run its course and should retire. But when looking at the entire series in perspective, it’s a good production and a worthy series to watch. And if you disagree, fruck that…
I’m not a big fan of medical dramas… But this one I watch on occasion. I guess what makes it different is its main Character, Dr. House, as well as its typical plot, which resembles more of a detective story than a typical E.R. drama. His bad manners actually make him favorable to the viewer as who would not want to be able to call things for what they are without prettying it up. Granted, House doesn’t just call things as they are – he combines it with a lot of fun sarcasm. All the characters are well played and directed. There is good character development and emotional depth. Yet I am giving it only 4 stars as there is so much medical drama one can stomach...
