Adrenaline runs high in Unstoppable, a well-paced action movie, “inspired by true events”. Well performed by a talented group of actors - led by Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson, to mention a few, Tony Scott, the director, moves the film at an increasing pace, through well-chosen visuals, sounds effects and music. The characters do not have much depth, and though that would usually be working against the plot, in this case – a pure action genre, with good actors at the helm, it is actually a good choice. The main character is, after all, the unmanned train. Trying to give too much weight to the background stories of the other characters, would have made the drama into a melodrama, and impact would have been lost. The story takes quite a bit of liberty as events unfold, but on occasion films can be more dramatic than life...
So without further ado, grab your popcorn and soft drink and enjoy the ride!
