Bridesmaids is an embarrassingly funny chick-flick guys will enjoy as well. At part it almost feels like The Hangover for women, not in terms of content but rather in spirit. The Bridesmaids suffers from unevenness; some parts are hilariously shit-in-your-pants grossly amusing, while all the in-between scenes are quite standard and feel like fillers. Yet the cast, led by shining performances from Kristen Wiig and, more notably, Melissa McCarthy, draws you in and keep you interested in anticipation of the next funny bit. I had a hard time rating this film as its funny parts are so deserving the highest rating, yet they account for maybe 20% of the movie, which is three stars at most. Still, given my star-index, it’s getting a 4-star i.e. worth seeing.
