Horrible Bosses rides on the premise that most of us, at one time or another, had a boss we could have done away with; a great premise in a world widely populated by underappreciated slaves of corporate America. The film however, hardly delivers on the promise. Moments here and there it seems to rise to the occasion, demonstrating madness, only to lose steam again and end up in mediocrity. Luckily Horrible Bosses enjoys an awesome cast, which includes a completely believable wicked Kevin Spacey, a surprisingly good Jennifer Aniston, an offbeat Colin Farrell, a timid Jason Bateman, a neurotic Charlie Day, and a somewhat uneven Jason Sudeikis. This cast shines even at times where the script provides little to go by. If you expect a really funny, laugh your a** out black comedy, stay at home. If you’ll settle for some good laughs on a weekend afternoon, Horrible Bosses is for you.
