Ocean’s Eleven meets Bernard Madoff, Tower Heist is fun fluff that somehow manages to balance comedy and action with bits of social commentary. While some critics analyzed this film to death, faulting the casting for having stereotype whites and blacks, this is the sort of film one needs to take with humor and little expectation but to have fun. One thing I can say for sure is that Eddie Murphy is back, and by back I mean funny-back; the way we love Murphy: fast, quirky and very funny. Ben Stiller and the rest of the cast is well-suited for the job.
All in all Tower Heist does not shine in any particular category but as a combo of genres it handles itself pretty well, with Murphy tipping the score from three to four star score.
