You will laugh and laugh a lot. 21 Jump Street is actually smarter than one might expect of an action-comedy film of this specific genre. It pokes fun at the TV series on which it is loosely based on, and does not stop there. Nerds, cops, the high-school’s cool guys and the YouTube and sms generation, to mention just a few, all get their appropriate share of insults. Jonah Hill co-wrote the script and stars in 21 Jump Street together with Channing Tatum in chemistry that is explosive when you least expect it. The film does lose some of its originality in its third part as it struggles to wrap up the loose ends and prepare us for a sequel. With a better ending it could have been a 4-star film. Still, so far (March,) it’s the funniest film of 2012.
