The Muppets sequel to the 2011 The Muppets film, is entertaining and fun, yet it surrenders too much screen time to characters other than, well, the Muppets... Though the two dozen or so cameo guest stars provide brief added value, they further take away from the real stars of the show.
This eighth silver-screen appearance of the Muppets is Directed by James Bobin to a screenplay by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller. The film enjoys plenty of smart lines, references to other films, and pleasing performances, especially by Tina Fey and the band of Siberian Gulag inmates under her supervision. My kids enjoyed it while I wasn’t bored. If you are a Muppets fan and are willing to settle for less than the best, the Muppets Most Wanted makes for a pleasurable afternoon at the movies.
