All in all The Lincoln Lawyer is an enjoyable film, a film that could have been much more, but despite not living to its potential, still scores high.
The cast, led by a charming Matthew McConaughey, is for the most part instrumental in creating the right atmosphere. Some pacing issues mid-film, and several credibility items, especially during the trial, do reduce the film’s effectiveness. Also, the concept of a lawyer conducting business from a Lincoln, as the title implies, is far from being realized in a story that turns out to ultimately be a pretty standard court-action drama. Still, as mentioned earlier, it is a well made movie, a movie I can easily see having a sequel, if not inspiring a TV series.
