Why We Fight (2005) ****

Inspired by Eisenhower's farewell address as President, in which he warned the nation about the military–industrial complex: a dangerous mix in which economics and non-military forces dictate whether the USA should go to war, this documentary will make you either nod your head in agreement, or discard with contempt.

Kinky Boots (UK, 2005) ****

Kinky Boots succeeds to charm despite a plot that has little surprises to offer in terms of twists and turns, and characters that are somewhat shallow and predictable. It is an enjoyable film with an appropriate crescendo ending.

On a Clear Day (2005, UK) ***

On a Clear Day is a well-intended film about a laid off shipyard engineer, who carries for years the weight of a dead son and an estrangement to his other son, deciding to cross the English Channel. Though well acted, the film is awfully predictable. It is not boring but not that exciting either. Rather than leaving you with a sense of achievement and resolve, you are left asking – do I really care?

Deep Blue (2005) ****

Is a meditative piece on our planet’s oceans, their surface and depth. Rather than following a traditional narrative, the filmmakers chose to create associative links between various sceneries, allowing visuals and situations to stretch and play out.

Wedding Crashers (2005) ***

...is actually a crude charmer of a romantic comedy. If you are in the mood for a romantic comedy that will satisfy most guys and their dates as well (or vs. verse), this is a good choice.

The Real Dirt On Farmer John (2005) ***

The film tells a good story, a story worth telling, a story of struggle, loss and prevalence an American story for the green organic generation.
